| Breast Prosthesis |
Prosthesis are available in 4 basic styles. They are also available in standard silicone and whipped silicone. You may also choose a temporary prosthesis, which may be a swim form or a non-silicone.
Depending on the contour of your chest wall after surgery, your fitter will assist you with the correct size and shape prosthesis. It not only is important to select the correct shape and size but the correct weight. If there is not equal distribution of weight you could develop neck or upper back pain. Vendors also offer attachable and custom external prostheis. Your fitter is knowledgeable, and will be able to answer your questions.
Partials are used to complete a symmetry problem. After a lumpectomy or reconstruction, partials are used to restore the symmetry which restores balance and weight.
They are available in varying shapes and styles and from many vendors.

Swim forms are ideal for bathing suits and are made to withstand saline and chlorinated water. There are other non-silicone weighted forms that can be used for short term use in reconstructive surgery and expanders. Additionally, they may be used for activities including sports gardening and at home wear.

We provide a large selection of bras. Fashionable fabrics and designs offer comfort, support and a secure fit. All mastectomy bras include a soft pocket to hold your prosthesis comfortable and securely in place.
Bras are available in seamless and padded cups, front closure, underwire, wide straps, leotard back, long line, and fiber-filled. Colors such as blue, merlot, lavender, pink, leopard, various shades of pearl beige. The list goes on and on and of course the traditional black, white and beige are still available. |
